Mother Monkey
Looking at my own relationship with motherhood, I designed a character based on a lot of personal feelings with my own mother.
Her fierceness, her protection, her sage and her elephant tusks.
It was healing to work on, and was a breakthrough piece for me to find out what designing from my heart means to me. How to take passion and use it as an intrinsic driver after my University Degree of extrinsic motivation.
Now we are getting into it! This project was a bit of a mental health project, healing my own ideas of motherhood. So it takes from my own mother, and a nordic trollmor, as that stems from my culture.
Some initial exploration to get started, mostly having fun with how she would move. Also the sketch that started the whole project, the wind-me-down after work.
